Well I think your going through depression. I have problems like that myself. You try to sleep, but you can't for some reason. But Karie if you need to talk to me about this or anything elce, IM me, PM me, or feel free to add me to skype. I don't want you to go through such things, because I've been there and know all about it.

ihave the same problem. my advice to you is to get more sleep and if you cant just think of being or feeling sleepy. if you need to listen to songs that would make you fall asleep do so. please get some sleep. if the next day after you wake up and you still feel depressed try to do something to get out of it. do something fun. play s aport. write what you feel in a notebook, or talk to a close friend about it. hey this is what happen what you get no sleep with in two or three days, your brain starts to malfuncion. my psychology teacher told us in a discausion that if you lack sleep you'll go crazy if you continue this for a week. so try to get some sleep even for an hour. please. take care.

You can't diagnose depression purely on the basis of disrupted sleep, yes its a symptom but there are many others..Yes sleep deprevation is serious, Marilyn Manson tried to stay awake for a week, and he had a breakdown..you need to look at your lifestyle, habits, caffine intake, exercise routine and causes of stress ect and decide what is causing you to miss sleep..

Hm, well, I had this once, when very many (mostly negative) thoughts went through my mind when I wanted to sleep. I took a medication then, and now it#s better and I can do without the medication again.

If you will look at the following link, there's a wealth of information about sleep disorders.

http://health.discovery.com/centers/sleepdreams/sleepdisorders/sleepdisorders.html

There is a hormone supplement called Melatonin that I think is particularly helpful with blind people. The peneal gland which produces melatonin is told to do so by the eyes: when they don't see light they tell the brain to produce melatonin and people start getting sleepy. Many blind people suffer from sleep disorder, and I think it is for the reason that they don't get enough melatonin.

Twenty-eight days of not sleeping, and I mean staying up the entire time, can kill you. Have you seen a doctor about this? They can send you to a sleep clinic and hook you up to some machines to test you for a possible sleeping disorder.
